Takoma Regional Hospital

Overview:
Takoma Regional Hospital (TRH) is an 85-bed acute care facility located in Greeneville, TN. Situated only 70 miles north of Knoxville. We are looking for an exceptional Emergency Medicine Physician to become the Medical Director at the site. In addition to a full complement of shifts, the Medical Director will work closely with the hospital administration in support of VEP's agenda of high quality, efficient, and compassionate care. The successful candidate should have significant experience and involvement in ED administrative activities (e.g., quality improvement, patient satisfaction, productivity, scheduling, etc.) and productive membership on ED and/or hospital committees.

* Approximately 21,000 patient visits annually
* 24 hours of physician coverage and 10 hours of AHP coverage daily
* 11 bed ED
* 12 hour shifts
* On call services include Orthopedics, Surgery Peds, and a Hospitalist Program
* Excellent ED Nurses, Techs, and ancillary staff
Requirements:
* Tennessee Medical License
* DEA License with Tennessee registration
* Emergency Medicine Boarded or Board Eligible
* 3 years of management level experience in a clinical setting
--OR--
* Boarded in Primary Care Specialty with at least 1 year of ED experience and ACLS, PALS and ATLS certifications

This lovely community offers the unique blend of a small town atmosphere coupled with all the attractions of a big city less than two hours away. In Greeneville, you'll find churches that have been in continual use since their construction in the 1780's and 1800's; graciously restored antebellum homes; and many historical landmarks, including the birthplace of the country's 17th president, Andrew Johnson. Ideal for families, this scenic area offers many opportunities for fun and recreation.
Compensation:
Physicians are independent contractors and are given base rates with the opportunity to earn productivity pay at specific sites. VEP provides independent contractors with pension plan administration, flexible schedules, and paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage. Physicians also enjoy the benefit of becoming a stockholder which allows them to be actively involved in the governance of the company. Medical Directors and Associate Medical Directors receive an additional stipend based on patient volume.
