Position Overview: Staff Physician (Dermatologist) VM-0602-15: Core privileges include full privileges to do comprehensive examinations, consultations diagnosis, and treatment of dermatological disease. Physician reports directly to the clinic Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Board certification by the appropriate American Board for his/her specialty is preferred. Staff Physicians appointed to direct patient care must be proficient in spoken and written English and must meet all requirements for the position. Qualified applicants must have completed an accredited residency or fellowship and incumbents must hold an unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state. Duties of the position may include but are not limited to the following skills and procedures: Aspiration, incision and drainage of cutaneous abscesses and lesions. Collection, reading and interpretations of KOH, Tzanck smears, gram stains, hair preps, and mite preps. Cyro-surgery of benign, premalignant and malignant skin lesions. Debridement. Destruction by chemical means (topical chemotherapy) of skin lesions (including peels). Destruction by surgical means (such as curettage, electro-surgery, etc.) of benign and premalignant skin lesions. Destruction by surgical means (such as curettage, electro-surgery, etc) of malignant skin lesions. Excision of benign skin lesions (including small tattoos). Excision of malignant lesions, simple and complex (including flaps, plastics and grafts of small and medium size areas). Injections (dermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, or IV). Injection of small varicose veins. Intralesional medication injections of cutaneous lesions. Nail surgery. Patch testing (including photopatch). Photopheresis. Skin biopsies (shaves, punches, incisional and excisional). Ultraviolet light treatment (phototherapy) for skin conditions.
