Loyal Source Government Services is currently hiring a Critical Care Physician for Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Columbia, SC to work as a civilian contractor. Qualifications: • Must have at least 1 year of experience in providing care in multi-specialty critical care units. • Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care/Pulmonary. • Must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree from an accredited college or university approved by the Department of Education. • Must have an unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States of the District of Columbia. o Former adverse actions against a license shall be considered grounds for determining the Contractor to be unacceptable for the contract. • Must have current BLS and ACLS Certifications. • Must be proficient in spoken and written English. • Must be mentally and physically able to fulfill all responsibilities within the scope of work. • Must be proficient in the use of CPRS and VISTA. Scope of Work: • Provide a full range of critical care to intensive care units. • Serve as the attending for inpatient services on a 24-hour basis, perform evaluations involving complete history and physical examinations and the ordering of laboratory or other studies relevant to the patient’s medical problem, supervise house staff, midlevel providers, and assist with their evaluations and management of patients. • Perform and provide assistance with specialty specific procedures including but not limited to: Arterial/venous blood sampling, thoracentesis, arterial and venous catheter placement, placement of central venous lines/acute dialysis catheters/PA catheters, intubation, fiber-optic bronchoscopy, lumbar puncture, joint aspiration, placement of NG/feeding tubes, aspiration of subcutaneous fluid collections, bladder catheterizations, and performing portable ultrasound. • Services will be rendered in the intensive care areas. • Services will be provided in other inpatient and outpatient areas throughout the facility including Emergency Department, Critical Care Intensive Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, General Medicine and Critical Care Units. • Shall participate in quality management and utilization review activities, as needed clinical conferences for staff, and shall attend medical staff and service-level meetings as specified by the Service Chief.
