Department Overview:
JHS Corrections Health Services provides health care within four jails located throughout Miami-Dade County. Recognized as one of the largest systems of correctional facilities in the United States, it houses an average of approximately 5,000 inmates per day. JHS provides the inmates in these facilities with medical, mental health, dental, pharmacy, emergency and educational services.
Position Summary
This position would have responsibility for psychiatric services in the CHS Mental Health Unit and on site psychiatric services at each of the jails. The main duties are initial evaluations, crisis intervention, medication management/renewal and treatment plan updates.
Position Requirements
* License in the state of Florida as M.D or D.O.
* Preferred Boarded or Board eligible.
* Preferred Forensic Psychiatric experience.
* Preferred NCCHC certification.
