The VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System (VAEKHCS) is actively seeking a full-time Board Certified or Board Eligible Non-invasive Cardiologist with outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills. The candidate will be assigned as a staff Cardiologist in Ambulatory Medicine Service at our Topeka, KS VA Medical Center. Having experience in clinical scholarly/research activity and teaching of other staff will be considered an additional qualification. Experience in providing Tele-cardiology coverage will also be considered additional qualification. Primary duty is for the day-to-day care of veteran patients. Duties include all aspects of clinical cardiology in both inpatient and outpatient settings, rounding on ICU patients, attending duties in intensive care unit, call coverage and coverage in other areas when needed. The Cardiologist is responsible and participates in quality improvement and clinical performance in all aspects of the VAEKHCS Cardiology Program. Travel to and from both VA Eastern Health Care System campuses (Leavenworth, KS and Topeka, KS) may be required on occasion. Responsibilities include general and noninvasive cardiology duties and include the following but not limited to: Performing and interpreting echocardiograms Performing/Interpreting Stress tests, Holter monitoring Pacemaker/ICD placement/follow up Inpatient and outpatient cardiac care TEE and all aspects of general cardiology functions Promote Tele-cardiology coverage Work Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm with some after hours and weekend coverage.
