Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics and Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University are seeking applications for Division Chief of Allergy / Immunology at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, board certified. CHOR at VCU is a full-service healthcare facility for children with commitments to high quality comprehensive care, multidisciplinary teaching, research, and service. The Division has an established clinical program with 3 full-time faculty, a nurse practitioner, and a clinical fellowship program with 2 fellows, and works in close collaboration with a separate adult division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology. Current division members participate in basic science research (mast cell and basophil biology) and asthma clinical trials. While the position primarily requires educational and clinical leadership skills, preference will be given to candidates with a successful record of publications and external funding. Candidates must also demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Richmond is a wonderful mid-Atlantic city that is full of history. It is large enough to support all the best that a major city can offer but small enough to be friendly and communal. VCU is an urban university medical center with an easy commute to the suburbs and the countryside. Richmond has close proximity to Washington D.C. in north, beaches to the east, and mountains to the west.

Interested applicants should send a CV with a cover letter outlining your goals to Dr. Michael Schechter, Department of Pediatrics, VCU Health Systems, Box 980315, Richmond, VA 23298, or by email to [Register to View] />
