Medically Assisted Recovery Centers (MARC™) - Franklin, TN
MARC™ is a recovery center with headquarters in Franklin, TN (Cool Springs) and with other locations in the middle Tennessee area. We are a medically assisted program that utilizes a multi-disciplinary milieu of protocols and modalities while guiding patients through the recovery process.
JOB SUMMARY
The Physician will generally be responsible for medical, educational and administrative services as required. The Physician will specifically be responsible for the delivery of medical care to patients in MARC’s programs and will set an example of compassionate care. The Physician will provide case management and medical services to patients as an integral and synergistic member of the overall recovery team while adhering to the policies and procedures of MARC.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Physician will report to the Medical Director for assignments, consultation and staffing and will also work with the Clinical Services Director and the Mental Health Staff for direction in areas of mental health specialty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide the delivery of quality medicine to MARC patients.
• Set an example of compassionate and knowledgeable medical care to all patients.
• Stay abreast of developments in pain/addiction medicine and regularly communicate relevant information to the MARC Medical Director.
• Be available for consultation to MARC caregivers for routine care and for emergent medical problems.
• Participate in meetings, business development and governmental/regulatory matters as appropriate and/or as requested by the Medical Director.
• Participate in MARC Institute of Learning education program as appropriate and/or as requested by the Medical Director.
All applicants MUST be certified (or willing to become certified before start) to distribute Schedule II Controlled Substances (and have experience with Suboxone and Subutex).

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Intake and assessment of new patients.
• Request necessary history and treatment plans from outside providers when indicated.
• Create a Plan of Care/Treatment Plan for new patients.
• Direct patient care including medical assessments and follow-ups.
• Manage an appropriate caseload including paperwork.
• Prescribing appropriate medications as indicated by intake/assessment.
• Work collaboratively with team members to diagnose, manage and evolve patient care.
• Work collaboratively with outside providers to both make and receive referrals.
• Identify patient needs requiring medical management outside of the scope of MARC’s programs, i.e., dual diagnoses.
• Refer patients for individual and/or group therapy.
• Ordering and analysis of appropriate laboratory tests, when indicated.
• Organize and maintain personal work area.
• Facilitate educational groups.
• Travel to assigned sites.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Attend staff meetings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. A minimum of two years experience in alcohol and/or drug addictions/rehabilitation programs or provider experience in an agency or healthcare area providing substance abuse services required.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Must be licensed as an MD or OD and must have a valid driver's license.
