IMPORTANT: This is an open continuous announcement. The first cut-off date for this vacancy announcement will be Friday, August 14, 2015. Subsequent candidates will be reviewed for interviewon the 15th and 30th ofevery month - starting with August 30, 2015 until this position is filled. TOUR OF DUTY: Day Tour, 7:45am 4:30pm, with call rotation, as necessary. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing duties to include, but not limited to the following: Provides pre-operative and post-operative ophthalmology services, including hospital rounds, for surgical patients; Performs and supervises ophthalmic surgery including laser procedures in the operating room, minor surgery room, and laser room; Conduct weekly outpatient and inpatient clinics, averaging twenty to twenty-five (20-25) patients per day; Provide non-operative Ophthalmology hospital rounds for ophthalmology patients; Document services through appropriate notes, such as History and Physical, Progress notes, Operative notes and Discharge Summaries; Critiques morbidity and mortality information and documentation as needed; Alternate On-Call coverage with other VAMC Staff Ophthalmology Surgeon(s) and outside consultants; Educates residents and students in the principles and therapy of complex and basic ophthalmology surgery and services; Assist residents and students in selecting, developing and preparing abstracts for presentation at meetings Participates in clinical research protocols either developed locally in cooperation with other faculty or developed at other institutions for multi-center studies; Performs administrative duties involved in the proper functioning of the Surgical Care Service Line; and Performs other related duties, as required. /.jb-duties Wrapper for estimated pay section $100957 $300000 End Wrapper for estimated pay section Job Details Application Open Date 7/21/2016 Application Close Date 12/30/2016 end job-details left Organization Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration Who May Apply All groups of qualified individuals Status Full Time end job-details right end mystery div end job-details
