The Atlanta VA Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time Physician Assistant inSurgical Service. The selectee will be responsible for the care and administrative needs of theUrology patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide follow-up evaluationswith diagnostics on return patients following complex uro-oncological procedures and stone surgery. Perform will provide counseling and education to patients and their family members regarding urological management, procedures and follow-up. Complete function as the primary supervisor of all outpatient uro-oncological care. Responsible for completing urological evaluation and handle new consults in the outpatient, inpatient and emergency room settings. This includes detailed urological history and physical examination, investigations and management of urological conditions/diseases involving the kidneys, ureter, bladder, prostate urethra and genital systems. Function as the primary supervisor of all outpatient uro-oncological care. Initiate common outpatient diagnostic procedures such as diagnostic cystoscopy, transrectal ultrasound of the prostate, prostate needle biopsy procedure. Tour of Duty: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm (NOTE: Management has the right to determine and change work schedules.)
