Opportunity:
As the incoming Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant, you will perform cardiac care and surgical services under the supervision of a respected surgeon.
Duties include:
- Functions as an assistant to the surgeon in the operating room during surgical procedures
- Performs endoscopic vein harvest
- Performs wound closure
- Assists the cardiac nursing team in case and room preparation
- Pulls cases and assists with inventory control
- Assists with patient transport to the OR and to the ICU as needed
- Assists with maintenance of inventory needed for surgical procedures
- Resource for OR staff in patient positioning and table operation
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a licensed PA, with an active CA license or able to quickly obtain one, a current DEA, and experience post-training in this setting or a comparable surgical setting.
