We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our trauma program. This position supports the trauma surgeon throughout the continuum of care from when patients first arrives in the trauma bay, to the operating room, and in the ICU/patient care units. Abrazo West Campus is a 188-bed, Level-One Trauma Center located in the City of Goodyear, Arizona. Serving the western Phoenix metropolitan area and beyond, we are ideally located to grow with the expanding needs of the communities which we serve. Info about the hospital: Abrazo West Campus (located at 136th Avenue and McDowell Road in Goodyear) is a 188-bed acute care hospital serving the healthcare needs of southwest valley residents since September 2003. Abrazo West Campus has been recognized for high standards of quality and safe patient care by being named a recipient of the Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s Best Hospitals in Emergency Care. They are also accredited by The Joint Commission and are a Joint Commission-designated Primary Stroke Center and accredited Chest Pain Center. As a state designated Level 1 Trauma Center / American College of Surgeons Level II Trauma Center, Abrazo West Campus serves the critically-injured patients in the western region of Arizona. Abrazo West Campus continues to enhance service lines which already include comprehensive orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, hand, cardiovascular with open-heart surgery, obstetrics, women’s health, wound care with hyperbaric treatment and therapy as well as 24-hour emergency plus trauma care.
Requirements:
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Master Degree in Acute Care Nursing or Graduation from an AMA-approved Physician Assistant Program.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Doctor of Nursing Practice or Master of Science Degree in an AMA-approved Physician Assistant Program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year clinical experience in trauma, surgery or critical care-related field preferred.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Shall have and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the Arizona State Board of Nursing or have and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant from the state of Arizona. CPPA certified.
REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING: BLS, ACLS, ATLS
