Orthopedic Physician Assistant Opportunity
Duration: Now (pending privileging), minimum 1-year contract, 4-year renewal option
Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm, no overtime, Outpatient setting
Location: Fort Drum, New York
Department of Defense Military Treatment Facilities, GAHC Orthopedic Clinic
Qualifications:
Active, Current, Unrestricted Medical License within the United States
Maintain certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA
Active, Current Federal DEA registration
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Shall have spent at least two years (within the last five) practicing Orthopedics.
Details:
The contract health care providers shall perform evaluation and treatment (to include minor surgical procedures as medically necessary and within the scope of the Medical Treatment Facility) on all patients. All decisions regarding the scope of practice should be referred to the Chief, CTMC or his/her designated representative. Request diagnostic tests as medically indicated (more complex diagnostic testing, i.e., CT Scan, MRI, etc.) must be processed through the HCF/TSC and meet the required InterQual criteria. Render a diagnosis. Provide indicated treatment. (If unable to treat within the GAHC, proper referral must be done through the HCF/TSC). In complex cases, provide medical care, and continue medical management as necessary.
