Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) seeks an experienced, Certified Nurse Practitioner to join a multi-disciplinary team within the Section of Child Protection. This is a professional position that serves as a responsible clinician in the evaluation of sexually and physically abused and neglected children. These medical evaluations will take place in the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) at 17th and Chew Streets, Allentown, Pennsylvania and in LVHN hospital locations.

Responsibilities include:
1. Obtains careful and accurate medical histories according to protocols developed by the medical director and the CRNP.
2. Makes diagnoses and recommendations.
3. Identifies children at high risk for future abuse and neglect.
4. Generates high quality consultations for Children and Youth protective investigations and various county District Attorneys that may be used in both civil and criminal court.
5. Photographs clients for documentation and future reference.
6. May supervise and assist house staff and medical students in these endeavors.
7. Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings to provide medical diagnosis and comprehensive risk analysis in an effort to ensure the safety of children served.
8. Provides expert testimony in both civil and criminal court.
9. Assists in the development and implementation of an education program for the Pediatric and Family Practice Residents in the area of child abuse and neglect and for other paramedical personnel working within the Hospital Nursing, Social Work Services, Department of Pediatrics and other community agencies.
10. Participates in statewide, regional and national educational forums, both to improve knowledge base and performance and to present accomplished research studies.

There will be rotated on-call responsibilities on a 24/7 basis. While on call, this CRNP may need to respond to provide emergent services for child sexual assault victims and provide hospital consultations for children suspected of being maltreated.
