Urgent: Ortho/Trauma PA needed in Nebraska
Advantage Locums is currently looking for an orthopedic physician assistant to provide locums coverage for our client in Omaha, NE. The ideal candidate will have either orthopedic or trauma experience in the past and know how to work with this type of populations. PAs are always with a supporting surgeon , who work with them on the plan of care. The locum PA has to be independent and comfortable with doing things like reduction or patient management
• Active NE license & DEA
• Dates: Sept 1st –December 31st, 2014
• Reason for need: replacement PA being recruited and 24:7 trauma coverage
• Hours: 7:30a-5p Monday- Thursday
• Typical cases seen/required: Ortho trauma cases-fracture care, reductions traction and pin placement, consults (ER & floor) at 2 different hospitals.
• Call: 1:5 (total of 5 trauma PAs) call is 24 hours
• Trauma PAs cover 24:7 coverage at 2 ERs in Omaha
• 3 trauma PAs work every day during the day covering both ERs, all operative cases, consults and phone calls
• At 5pm 2 of 3 PAs go home and the 24hr call PA stays to handle all night consults, trauma, Ors, ERs, phone calls, etc.
Along with a competitive hourly rate, Advantage Locums will provide travel and lodging while on assignment along with mal practice insurance coverage.
