Function as a Hematology/Oncology Licensed Physician Assistant. This position will function independently as a clinical provider within the hemotology/oncology department working closely with nursing, physicians, as well as trainee's. The position will ensure that patients receive prompt, continues care. Plan and coordinate to flow of patients and information through the clinic, including, reviewing new consults, assigning physician providers and redistributing patient load following staff changes. Provider care coordination support to the department, including established procedures to ensure that laboratory tests that have been ordered are complete and available, follow up care is timely, ensuring supportive ancillary support is coordinated and provided to the patient. Provide outpatient transfusions and hydration by the attending physician and recognize and report all adverse effects of chemotherapy to the physician.
