Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) • Graduate of a Physician Assistant Training Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), or its predecessors as long as the individual’s license has been maintained uninterrupted. • Valid, unrestricted, PA license at least one State, Territory or Commonwealth of the US. Certification: Board Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Committee on Certification Physician Assistants (NCCPA); Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PAL) as required by position or MTF requirements. • Board Certification eligible as a Physician Assistant by the National Committee on Certification Physician Assistants (NCCPA); Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PAL) as required by position or MTF requirements. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records. • Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments related to prevention, and detection of illnesses in adults, is desirable. • Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers. • Shall be knowledgeable of equipment and supply terminology and skill sufficient to identify and use necessary equipment and supplies properly and to communicate proper use with nurses, medical staff, patients, and family members. • Shall be sufficiently skilled to teach patients proper self-care and to motivate patients and family members to continue the procedures for promoting rapid healing.
