Physician Assistant - (PA) Locum Tenens
The U.S. Navy is looking for a qualified and committed physician assistant or nurse practitioner with urgent care and emergency medicine experience to see the troops and their families on Shemya Island on the end of the Aleutian Islands.
Must be a U.S citizen. Must have a current and unrestricted state license from any of the 50 states. Must have at least two years of urgent care or emergency medicine experience. No malpractice required, the federal government covers the malpractice.
Must be certified thru the NCCPA. Must have current BLS, ACLS; PALS thru the American Heart Association. Will be working Monday thru Friday from 9am-5pm. There will be very light patient loads and will be seeing all ages and acuities. 99.9% of patients will be regular check-ups.
A physician assistant (PA)(locum tenens) practices medicine under the supervision of a physician and/or surgeon. In addition to a bachelor's degree, a physicians assistant must complete 2 years of accredited training. They are trained to provide patient care, diagnose and treat individuals with injuries and illnesses, and administer treatment.
