Central Care, Inc. is a federal government contractor located in Alexandria, VA, right outside of Washington, D.C. We are currently seeking Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners (Physician Extenders)to provide services to various departments within the hospitals and clinics of Fort Hood Army in Killeen, TX (approximately one (1) hour from Austin, TX).

Current openings are within the:
- Separation History and Physical Examination (SHPE) Department
- Medical Evaluation Board (MEB)
- Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) Center

The Physician Extender will provide services 40 hours per week, which consists of five (5) eight (8) hour days plus a 60 minute unpaid lunch break. Normal scheduled work date is Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, excluding Federal Holidays, however, with notice, schedule may change to meet the government's mission.

Major Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Adequately diagnose and treat acute diseases and injuries to include but not limited to: Skin; Head; Eyes; Ears; Nose; Throat; Neck; Pulmonary System; Gastrointestinal System; Musculoskeletal System; Genitourinary System; Reproductive System; Lymphatic System; Central Nervous System; Cardiovascular System and Endocrine System.
Become familiar with the hospital formulary and prescribe pharmaceuticals according to the drugs listed.
Generate and maintain proper medical records on beneficiaries to whom treatment is provided. All records generated in the performance of duties remain the property of the government.
Follow the established operating procedures of the MTF were services are being provided. Providers shall participate in the quality control activities of the MTF.
Military Planner Data Viewer (MPDV). This computer system is a readiness database system for read and write tasks being implemented at SRP/PDHRA sites.


Required Qualification:
Shall have and maintain a valid, unrestricted, current state medical license in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Have and maintain current certification in basic cardiac life support (BCLS) through an American Heart Association approved training program.
Have a minimum of one year of experience within the last three years routinely practicing as a PA. One year of experience for an Orthopedic PA will be in the form of ambulatory or hospital based orthopedic service.
Must possess a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited university within respective profession.
Possess current Board Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Applicable diploma and proof of membership in the NCCPA is required.

NOTE: Position requires access to Department of Defense computer systems, therefore the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner must be a US Citizen.
