South Williamson is located in Pike County, right along the Kentucky/West Virginia border, and is located just across the Tug River. The Tug River Valley provides the nation with about 11% of its energy needs and South Williamson is in the center of it. Area parks offer breathtaking beauty as well as plenty of hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and white-water rafting. Southeast Kentucky is definitely a place for all seasons. Blessed with a temperate climate and protected from extremes of weather by the surrounding mountains, the rugged landscape and rich soil promotes lush growth and spectacular scenery, with every season bestowing its own separate beauty.

Rich with history and culture, you can tour an 1800’s recreated Appalachian settlement (working farm), historical homes and various civil war sites. The area also offers scenic driving trails, musical and theatrical entertainment venues, a local artisan museum, horse shows, golf courses, and much more. South Williamson offers the beauty of nature with lakes, rivers, and mountains, the quaintness and peacefulness of small town pro-family life and quality education opportunities.
