Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake is a 218-bed facility, located near White Rock Lake in Dallas, Texas. All major medical specialties are represented and most major sub-specialties with the exception of neurosurgery. The hospital provides 24-hour x-ray, CT, and Lab.
Emergency Department
• 17 bed Emergency Department; 5 beds used as a Fast Track
• 36,000 annual patient visits
• High percentage of medicine and cardiac
• Some Blunt Trauma, not a lot of sick Trauma
• Older population; fairly high acuity ~ 20% to 25% admissions rate
• Hospitalist Program in house (4 groups)
• Most sub-specialties on call with NS, Sick PEDS and some Hand being shipped out
• Istat point of care testing in department
• Interventional CD lab with ~60 min door to balloon time
• Emergency Department is equipped with MedHost, a computerized patient tracking system with physician order entry
• 34 hours of physician coverage with an additional 20 hours of MLP coverage
• 4 to 1 Nurse to patient ratio with a dedicated Charge Nurse
• 1 Million Dollar Renovation
• Glide scope Intubations
• Ultra Sound Central Line placements
