Join our dynamic Emergency Room team as a Physician Assistant! We are located in central Maine and we are just an hour away from the lovely coast or the lively city of Portland. We are a cohesive, knowledgeable staff who strives for excellence in patient care. We are seeking an independent, compassionate Physician Assistant with previous emergency room experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
2. Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
3. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
4. Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
5. Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
6. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
7. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
8. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
9. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
10. Develops health care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
11. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

EDUCATION: Completion of a four-year accredited physician assistant baccalaureate program and a year of clinical training.

LICENSURE: State accreditation based on certifying exam. Continued employment requires 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and passing a recertification examination every six years.
• Schedule is 10AM-9PM shift, 3 or 4 days per week
• Salary range $85-100K
• CME reimbursement up to $2000/year with 5 paid days off
