Maxim Government Services is currently seeking mid-level providers, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, to provide services for our client, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). Compensation is based on experience level, average yearly salary $85,000-$125,000. Comprehensive Blue Cross BlueShield Health and Benefits Plan, Dental, Vision, 401K, 11 holidays.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, day shift.

Position Details:
Performs medical screenings, determines preliminary diagnoses and treatment. The Nurse Practitioner provides primary care to individuals by performing medical screenings, identifying normal/abnormal physical conditions; diagnoses and treats patients; initiating referrals for further diagnosis and treatment; and providing instruction in health care. Utilizes collaborative approach with other onsite healthcare providers.

This position is located in the Division of Correctional Health and requires Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Job Description:
1. Performs routine physical screening examinations.
2. Interviews inmate to obtain health histories.
3. Under supervision of a physician, manages the stable phase of chronic illness.
4. Records findings of physical and developmental assessment.
5. Provides direct and indirect clinical services to inmates.

Experience/Qualifications Needed:
• Master’s Degree in Nursing
• Licensed ARNP in the state of CA
• Must maintain current BLS
• Experience with family practice/primary care setting required
• Experience in Correctional environment a plus
