Cardiology/Cardiac Electrophysiology(EP)

Seeking Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant Board Certified

Full time opportunity to join a well-established cardiac electrophysiology group with five attendings, three EP fellows, one PA and one PA. Position would be 80% EP and 20% general cardiology including liability for weekend/holiday in-house call. Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

The provider will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with EP related issues under the supervision of attending EP physicians. This includes: identification and management of atrial and ventricular dysrhythmias, management and programming of implanted pacemakers, defibrillators and implanted loop recorders, including complications and troubleshooting, prescribing and surveillance of antiarrythmic medications and anticoagulation. The provider will participate in the admissions and discharges, management of patients in outpatient clinic, inpatient telemetry and critical care units and provide technical support as necessary in procedural and operative settings though surgical assist is not routinely part of this role.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to prioritize and triage. Well-developed critical thinking and problem solving skills are expected.

Associate providers play an important role in graduate medical education and are appointed to our School of Medicine at a level of Instructor.

Specialty training and education is required and will be provided via a combination of in-service, on-line, vendor sponsored and conference based programs for those without specialty experience.

EP experience is preferred but would consider a highly motivated candidate with other experience. A candidate with a strong background in cardiology is preferred.
