Candidate Requirements
Active PA State License
Board Status: Board Certified
Required Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
Minimum Years Experience (if applicable): 3
Looking for someone with experience in Trauma/Acute Care/Emergency General Surgery. They will need to be independent in procedures such as central lines and chest tubes as well as have experience first assisting in the OR, seeing consults, admissions, etc. Will not be able to see patients of all ages and will not have any outpatient responsibilities.

Job Information
Typical Day: Rounding on inpatient service in AM followed by documentation of daily notes that includes ICU management and hospital discharges. First assisting in OR cases; there are not cases every single day. Seeing new ED consults, floor consults, and responding to all trauma alerts.
Avg census: 20 patients
Avg admissions: 5 admissions per day on average. There is an increase in census from May - August. APPs are first call during their 12 hour shift. During day shift there are 2 APPs on, and night shift one APP on. Locums will need to be able to work both day shift and night shift.
2 cases per day, 1 per night
Trauma Level: II
Procedures: Central lines, chest tubes, A lines, lac repairs, I&D, FAST exams.
First assist in OR
Being fully trained for procedures like central lines and chest tubes are encouraged but not necessary
Will provider work? Yes
Typical Cases seen: Trauma Ex laps, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, emergent ex laps, hernia repairs. No elective cases, all emergent.

Pediatric 10%:
Patient Mix: 70% Surgical, 30% Trauma

Time to Credential: 60-90 days, no ER privs avail
