Job Description
Place of Performance:
Services are to be performed at the NNMC within the State of New Mexico.
Period of Performance:
The period of performance includes short-term (13 weeks), long-term (1 year), and intermittent support to meet unplanned needs.
Performance-Based Requirements:
The contractor shall provide outpatient GENERAL SURGERY physician services, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, direct patient care, and adherence to established medical standards and procedures. Duties include staffing outpatient surgery clinics, performing surgeries and endoscopies, admitting new patients, providing consultations, and maintaining proper documentation. The contractor must adhere to the NNMC's quality assurance plan and obtain necessary approvals for any absences from work.
Work Schedule:
Contractors will work Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. However, the work schedule includes outpatient clinic hours, surgical procedures, night and weekend call coverage, and flexibility to support patient care as directed. Overtime may be required as needed.
Contractor Qualification Requirements:
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree and be Board Eligible or ABS certified in General Surgery. A valid, unrestricted medical license, BLS and ACLS certification, and compliance with health requirements are necessary.
Health Requirements:
Contractors must provide documentation of immunizations and health evaluations, including immunity to specific diseases and vaccinations against influenza and COVID-19.
