Schedule

  • Inpatient Schedule:
  • Monday, 5p to Tuesday, 7a - Trauma, SCC and General Surgery coverage
  • Tuesday, 5p to Wednesday, 7a - Trauma, SCC and General Surgery coverage
  • Wednesday, 5p to Thursday, 7a - Trauma, SCC and General Surgery coverage
  • Thursday, 5p to Friday, 7a - Trauma, SCC and General Surgery coverage
  • Friday, 7a to Saturday, 7a – Backup Call
  • Saturday, 7a to Sunday, 7a - Trauma and General Surgery Primary Call Coverage
  • Sunday, 7a to Monday, 7a – Backup Call

Clinical Details

  • Inpatient
  • Round on 10-20 inpatients a day in addition to trauma consults and 911/811 response
  • Average number of admits per day = 5
  • Surgical Volume varies, but averages around 5-10 operations/week
  • Consult volume: 5-10 per day
  • Adult and Pediatric patients
  • Pediatric age range generally 8-15, mostly 13-15 within that range
  • Level 2 trauma center, but facility operates as a level 1
    • Candidate must be comfortable with this
  • 500+ bed facility that offers all service lines and subspecialties

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible - Surgical Critical Care and General Surgery
  • Licensed – SC Medical, SC Controlled Substance and DEA permanently registered in SC
  • Procedures required: Predominantly blunt trauma, penetrating trauma, emergent procedures with general surgery, some ICU bedside procedures (tracheotomy, PEG tube, chest tube, etc.)
  • Adult and Pediatric trauma comfort required
  • Must be comfortable with busy trauma center
  • Must be able to do Monday - Monday Stretches
