Neonatology position - South GA - near Savannah!!
Hospital Employed Setting - hospital based
Level 2 Neonatal Unit
21 Nursery beds, of which 5 are level II
1,607 deliveries last year and hospital is on pace with that same OB volume
Total c-section rate is 42%
There are 7 Pediatricians who currently rotate 24 hour call to attend c-sections. The eighth aged out of call.
These 7 will only continue this coverage until hospital has complete coverage.
Pediatricians are very supportive of new Neonatologist being recruited. They want the coverage because ??it is pulling them away from their clinic practice.
Hospital envisions a model similar to a hospitalist (7 on / 7 off 24 hour call schedule). The hospital would like the incoming Neonatologist to attend all deliveries.
Seeking 1st full-time Neonatalogist to medical staff
Will allow hospital to continue growth plan for Women's Services, specifically for high risk deliveries that require Pediatrician or Neonatology attendance.
8 Pediatricians in community (on medical staff)
Level II nursery coverage, newborn intubations, ventilator management
Competitive salary (based on MGMA guidelines), nice benefits package, relocation expenses, commencement bonus, potential for medical education debt assistance, paid malpractice insurance, 401k, disability insurance, life/medical/dental/vision, CME, vacation.
