Dedicated swing shift 11 am 11 pm, 7 on 7 off
Great opportunity to practice Hospital Medicine at a large tertiary, level II trauma center located in Great Falls, Montana. Swing Specific Details
Dedicated swing shift 11 am 11 pm, 7 on 7 off
Average of 8 admissions per day
Ability to call for back up support from day rounders if admissions are unmanageable
Designated office space in our clinical decision unit attached to the emergency department
Additional after hours resources for support and collaboration include: 2 dedicated nocturnists on shift from 7p-7a, at 2 board certified emergency medicine physicians on shift, and 24/7 in house intensivist coverage
General Position Details
Day rounds have a reasonable patient load with a target census of no more than 15 patients to allow for good medical practice and collaboration with colleagues
12 hr shifts, 7 on / 7 off block schedule, working alongside 8 physicians, 2 nurse practitioners, 1 swing/admitter physician (11a-11p) and 2 dedicated nocturnists (1 physician 1 APP)
Cover only 1 hospital with 349 acute care beds, admitting medical and surgical patients 16 years of age and older (adult), excluding obstetrical and providing medical coordination and inpatient utilization management for surgical patients
Great access to specialists with over 340 providers on our medical staff representing 40 specialties, including: Neurosurgery, CVT Surgery, Interventional and General Cardiology, General Surgery, Urology, Neurology, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Inpatient Gastroenterology, Psychiatry, and more!
Hospital wide HIPAA compatible texting system to easily access colleges and specialists
Procedures optional with privileging and no ICU coverage required (intensivists are in house 24/7 for consultation)
