A Level 1 Trauma Center located in Tyler, TX, is currently seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with a specialization in Critical Care and Mechanical Circulatory Support to join its skilled team.

The selected candidate will operate exclusively in an inpatient setting, bringing expertise in critical care, Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS), and mechanical circulatory support. They should demonstrate proficiency in managing patients within the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Trauma, and Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) environments. Joining a dedicated team focused on delivering top-tier care to individuals requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support techniques, the ideal candidate will:

- Work 14 shifts per month on rotating 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a), attending to up to 12 patients per shift.

- Not be required for on-call duties (negotiable).

- Provide comprehensive care for ECLS and Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) patients across the 58-bed ICU, covering CVICU, trauma, and MICU.

- Exhibit expertise in managing patients needing Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), ventricular assist devices (VADs), and other mechanical circulatory support equipment.

- Act as a mentor to nursing staff, residents, fellows, and other APPs, offering guidance on critical care principles, ECLS management, and mechanical circulatory support.

- Engage in quality improvement projects to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.

- Contribute to research endeavors and evidence-based practice initiatives within the institution.

- Utilize Epic EMR for documentation.

Requirements for the role include a Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program, current state licensure and certification as an Advanced Practice Provider, and board certification in Acute Care, Critical Care, or relevant specialty. Additionally, candidates should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in critical care, with a focus on ECLS and mechanical circulatory support.
