**Locums Emergency Medicine Position in Berryville, AR** **Coverage** - Current open shifts vary, both days and nights and several dates every month starting in May. - Start: 05-13-2024 - End: 08-31-2024 **Position Details** - No call for ED physicians. They do not round anywhere other than on their ED patients in the ED department. They will admit to hospital but via our Hospitalist. They do not write the admission orders, but they do call the Hospitalist and the Hospitalist makes the decision whether to admit. - Also, the ED physician is the only physician in the hospital often and always at night. We will begin having medical residents here starting July 2024 and they will rotate through the ED. - The ED physician responds to a code on med surg if one is called, which is not often. - Practice Setting: Inpatient - EMR System: Epic - Providers Requested: 1 - Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only - Will Facility Accept Multiple Providers? Yes - Admissions Required? Yes - Temporary Privileges Available? No - Is Hospital Stroke Certified? No - Patients Per Shift: 38 per 24 hour - Bed In Department: 12 **Requirements** - Minimum Board Certification: Certified - License Requirement: Licensed in AR only - The Following Certifications Are Required: ACLS, ATLS, PALS - Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days **Work Schedule** - Shifts are 24 hours long, including both days and nights. Specific dates and shifts are scheduled from May through July, covering regular emergency department operations without the need for rounding outside of ED. **Additional Information** - This is a critical access rural hospital that will see many of the same emergencies as larger hospitals but with less volume. - No call for ED physicians; they do not round anywhere other than on their ED patients. - ED physicians will admit to the hospital via a hospitalist who decides on admissions. The ED physician does not write admission orders but calls the hospitalist. - ED physicians are often the only physicians in the hospital, especially at night. - Starting July 2024, medical residents will rotate through the ED. - The ED physician responds to codes on the med-surg floor if one is called, which is not frequent.
