Physician Assistant (or Nurse Practitioner) Opening in MA_x000D_ Location: Attleboro, MA, US_x000D_ Full time_x000D_ Salary Range:_x000D_ $70.00 To 85.00 Hourly_x000D_ We are seeking a well-qualified Physician Assistant (or Nurse Practitioner), who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care._x000D_ _x000D_ Come work for one of the fastest-growing Urgent Care companies in the Northeast. We currently operate a network of Urgent Care centers in multiple states. We are a hard-working team that is relentless in building a great company focused on patients, culture, and performance._x000D_ _x000D_ Responsibilities and Duties:_x000D_ Physical Assessment: The history, physical examination, assessment, and plan remain the four major components of the initial evaluation of each patient in the clinic. Each Advanced Practitioner is responsible for the following elements:_x000D_ _x000D_ Obtaining history of present illness in a concise manner_x000D_ Reviewing and obtaining past medical history, social history, family history, and review of systems_x000D_ Performing an appropriate physical examination_x000D_ Ordering and interpreting laboratory and radiologic testing when needed_x000D_ Obtaining records and relevant data in the process of patient evaluation_x000D_ Developing an orderly impression and differential diagnosis for patient complaints/concerns_x000D_ Developing an orderly plan for care based on clinical impressions and evidence-based medical guidelines_x000D_ Prescribing medications in accordance with State and Federal laws/guidelines_x000D_ Consulting with other medical providers when appropriate_x000D_ Referring to appropriate specialists when necessary_x000D_ Stabilizing patients with high acuity medical issues, within the capability of the clinic, and arranging for emergent transport to the nearest emergency department_x000D_ Key Knowledge Areas: Several key knowledge areas and disease states commonly present in the urgent care setting. The Advanced Practitioner must have a good working knowledge including clinical presentation, evaluation, and treatment of the following disease states, across all age groups:_x000D_ _x000D_ Chest Pain & Cardiac Complaints_x000D_ Allergic Reactions_x000D_ Back Pain_x000D_ Cervical Pain_x000D_ Fractures & Sprains_x000D_ Upper Respiratory Infections_x000D_ Asthma & COPD_x000D_ Urinary Tract Infections_x000D_ Pelvic Infections_x000D_ Abscess Care_x000D_ Lacerations & Burns_x000D_ Nausea & Vomiting_x000D_ Diarrhea_x000D_ Abdominal Pain_x000D_ Headaches_x000D_ Rashes & Skin Infections_x000D_ Eye Infections & Injuries_x000D_ Other_x000D_ Procedural Skills: Clinical procedure skills each Advanced Practitioner must be qualified to perform. Basic skills include:_x000D_ _x000D_ Venipuncture and peripheral line placement_x000D_ Preparation and administration of subcutaneous, intravenous and intramuscular medications_x000D_ Dressing changes and wound management_x000D_ Administration of local anesthesia_x000D_ Application of splints_x000D_ Incision and drainage of simple abscesses_x000D_ Removal of foreign bodies_x000D_ Suturing of simple wounds or lacerations_x000D_ Removal of sutures or staples_x000D_ Emergency procedures including ACLS and PALS deemed necessary to sustain life or limb until EMS leaves the facility_x000D_ Documentation, Coding, and Billing: All patient visits must be documented, coded and billed appropriately per guidelines._x000D_ _x000D_ All components of the history, physical exam, impression, and plan must be well documented in the electronic medical record system for each patient visit. Office visits should be completed and signed off within 72 hours of the patient encounter. Laboratory and radiology results reviewed must be signed, dated, and scanned into the electronic medical record system. Phone conversations involving patient care must be documented in the electronic medical record system._x000D_ At each visit, based on the work performed and using the electronic medical records systems coding tool, the appropriate billing code should be chosen for the visit. All procedures performed should be documented with the appropriate billing codes selected._x000D_ ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES_x000D_ _x000D_ Comply with all HIPAA regulations to maintain patient rights to privacy_x000D_ Preserve each patients dignity at all times_x000D_ Understand and promote values, goals, strategies, and overall vision_x000D_ Help other employees to accomplish goals_x000D_ Promote harmony, teamwork, leadership, and good supervisory/employee relations through example_x000D_ Participate in orientation, training, and staff development programs_x000D_ Participate in all emergency and disaster recovery plans as directed_x000D_ Qualifications and Skills_x000D_ _x000D_ Maintain the following licenses and certifications:_x000D_ State Medical License_x000D_ Controlled Substance Registration_x000D_ Federal DEA Registration_x000D_ Current certification by a national organization as an Advanced Practitioner_x000D_ PALS and ACLS Certification_x000D_ NRCME Certification_x000D_ We are an equal-opportunity employer.
