Exciting Physician Assistant Position in Central South Carolina!

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic practice, SC ENT, Allergy and Sleep Medicine. This role includes comprehensive responsibilities in case management and patient communication, supporting our commitment to deliver high-quality patient care. The Physician Assistant/NP will work under moderate supervision and is essential in creating favorable impressions with patients through exceptional service and clinical care. The primary responsibilities will involve evaluating patients primarily for follow-up visits, with a focus on the respiratory tract and skin.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patient Evaluation: Conduct brief histories of the chief complaint or inquire about the interval history since the last appointment for follow-up patients.
  • Physical Examinations: Perform detailed physical examinations focusing on the nose, ears, throat, respiratory tract, and skin.
  • Clinical Assessment: Provide a clinical assessment including differential diagnosis where indicated. Develop and document treatment plans tailored to each patient, ensuring clear communication.
  • Consultation: In complex cases, promptly consult with clinic physicians either directly or by phone. Mandatory consultation is required in difficult cases to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Prescription Authority: With appropriate prescriptive authority, prescribe medications such as antihistamines, decongestants, mucolytics, bronchodilators, inhaled and oral steroids, and antibiotics.
  • Management of Reactions: Assist in the management and treatment of reactions secondary to immunotherapy, seeking immediate consultation with a clinic physician when reactions are severe.
  • Diagnostic Tests: Order and interpret specific laboratory assessments, radiology, and CT scans as appropriate to the patient’s medical condition.
  • On-Call Responsibilities: Available to take calls from home during after-office hours with physician back-up always available for consultation.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Current Physician Assistant license or eligible to be licensed in the state of SC.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Eligible for hospital privileges.

Working Hours

  • The role requires traveling between multiple offices including Lugoff, Downtown, Northeast, and Sumter.
