Our client is a private practice Gastroenterology clinic that is currently seeking to hire a Physician Assistant with prior experience in a Gastro setting.
Experience in Gastroenterology is required.
Bilingual candidates with fluency in Spanish are preferred but not required.
This is a full-time on-site position in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Northern Brooklyn.

Educational and Certification Requirements

  1. Master’s Degree: Completion of a Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  2. Certification: Must have passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  3. State Licensure: Current state license as a Physician Assistant or eligibility to obtain licensure before starting employment.
  4. Continuing Medical Education (CME): Compliance with ongoing CME requirements as per state and certification guidelines.

Experience and Skills

  1. Clinical Experience: Preferably, one to three years of experience in gastroenterology or a related specialty; however, new graduates with relevant rotations may be considered.
  2. Procedure Skills: Proficiency in performing basic gastrointestinal procedures such as endoscopies or familiarity with assisting in more complex procedures under the supervision of a gastroenterologist.
  3. Patient Care: Ability to perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations, diagnose and treat common acute and chronic gastrointestinal issues.
  4. Pharmacological Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of common medications used in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, including their indications, contraindications, and side effects.
