**Certified Nurse Midwife opening: Greenville, NC** - Location: Greenville, NC; Raleigh 85m **About the Job** - Full-time role based at our Greenville location; Sunday- Saturday, days and hours vary based on call schedule. - Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner. - Weekend work is required. - Seeking an exceptional Certified Nurse Midwife to join our family! - Provide clinical antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and general gynecological care to patients including: - Initial prenatal office visits, interviewing, performing exams, patient health education, follow-up prenatal visits, postpartum exams, annual exams, and work in visits. - Managing labor and attending delivery. - Making daily rounds of postpartum patients. - On call for hospital (depending on the facility schedule). - Follow policy and procedure for dictation and documentation. - Assist with various administrative activities of the Nurse-Midwifery Program such as: - Communicating with Facility and hospital staff and physicians. - Reviewing lab data and keeping records and statistics as needed for research projects. - Telephone follow-up with patients. - Updating annual Certified Nurse-Midwife statistics and protocols. - Participating in various committees and meetings as needed. - Provide both clinical and classroom health care teaching and counseling as needed to patients, families, students, and community programs. Act as preceptor for students to include mid-level extenders, nursing, and medical students. - Contribute information to research projects pertaining to Nurse-Midwife patients; assist with investigation of patient care problems; participate in individual and group projects and publication when appropriate; conduct own research projects. - Attend clinical meetings for Mid-Level Extenders. - Licensure/Certification must be current and renewed annually. - CPR certification. Our office is located just across the street from a 900+ bed academic medical center that is a tertiary care center and the home of East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine. The presence of a large neonatal ICU in the hospital allows our providers to do high risk as well as low risk obstetrics. We have a cordial and supportive relationship with the full-time ECU medical faculty, which includes sub specialists in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility. We have found that the easy availability of consultations with sub specialists has enhanced the quality of our practice. We have also found that it is much easier to stay up to date with changes in our specialty due to the ongoing interaction that we have with residents and medical students in addition to the easy access to educational activities, such as the weekly grand rounds in OB-GYN **Additional Information** Located in Greenville, NC, with twelve offices located in and around the area. We offer multiple specialties including critical care and pulmonary medicine, emergency medicine, oncology, family medicine, endocrinology, internal medicine, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, gastroenterology, dermatology, infectious disease along with general, colon-rectal and bariatric surgery. Our ninety providers and over 600 employees provide services for thousands of patients in a twenty-nine county region. Our doctors are on staff at Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center and the primary teaching hospital for the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. **Location** Greenville is a pleasant community located in eastern North Carolina. It is only approximately one hour away from the Atlantic Ocean.
