Our Digital Health Advance Practice Providers provide primary patient care to a wide variety of patients, both in person and through virtual health consults, under the supervision and direction of a licensed physician.

Digital Health APPs perform various but standardized tasks requiring considerable experience and training which does not constitute the practice of medicine, and would otherwise be performed by a physician. The in-person consults may be conducted in a physician practice, clinic or ambulatory facility, or other non-traditional setting and virtual health consults will be performed in a virtual care setting (e.g. home office) using video, mobile and telephonic technologies. This role collaborates with physicians, mid-level providers, staff, and other health care professionals to provide the best care across the health care continuum. Additionally, this role serves as an integral member of the health care team who works to ensure safety, best practice and high quality standards of care are maintained across the continuum.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Utilizing the approved medical practices process in the delivery of all patient care.
  • Performing initial patient screenings and patient history.
  • Providing clinical assessments and utilizing approved medical protocols per policy and recommending an appropriate level of clinical care based on clinical judgment and protocols; reviewing and updating patient records and checking records for accuracy at each patient appointment.
  • Providing education experiences to patient families, staff, other health professionals, and the community.
  • Analyzing test results and determining appropriate care needed, including referrals, follow-up visits and further treatment options.
  • Remaining knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Physician Assistants: Master's Degree & graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program. Required Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree in NP program or post Master's NP program. As of January 1, 2005, all new NP graduates must have a Master's Degree. National certification required after January 1, 2000. Continuing education is mandatory for recertification and for continuing regulatory recognition to practice in the State. Required
  • Experience: Three years of experience working in a physician practice setting. Preferred One year working in a telehealth / virtual care setting. Preferred
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state. Required NCCPA Certification (PA) and current DEA license (PA and NP). Required
  • Additional Skills Preferred: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to work with management team and physicians; demonstrated customer service skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Possesses excellent computer skills with the ability to multitask including navigating and documenting in an EMR

while communicating with the patient and using a video and/or telephonic platform.

Ability to be a team player, contribute to a positive working environment, and demonstrate initiative, ownership

and accountability. Knowledge of healthcare environment as it relates to technology, physicians, medical group

practice, hospitals, ancillary services and insurance/managed care. Up to 25% regional day travel between facilities

may be required.
