Must be competent in all anesthesia techniques; regional block competency a plus
Types of surgeries: Ortho, podiatry, ENT( with pediatrics) General Surgery, Urology, GI endoscopy, OB/GYN to include epidurals/spinals, placement of regional blocks.
Adults primarily with the only pediatric cases is ENT (tubes and tonsils)
Advanced line placement and ventilator management in the OR/PACU
No pain blocks
The schedule is: hospital OR setting, 2 weeks working (days), with 7 days of call (including a weekend) during the 2 weeks. I have noticed that if a CRNA is working the OR during the day, they don’t have night call and if they have night call, they are not on the schedule to work in the OR during the day
