International SOS provides real-time medical and security advice and support through our unique Assistance Center which is staffed with Doctors, Nurses and Customer Service Experts. Our Assistance Center handles over 12,000 calls a day and we perform 1,600 air ambulance missions and fly 12,000 flight hours per year. Through our contract with TRICARE, we also provide medical care, case management and assistance to more than 500,000 US military personnel, retirees and their dependents in 206 countries and territories.
Collectively, we speak 99 different languages and dialects and every case is managed to full resolution via our single global case management platform.

Company History
In 1985, Arnaud Vaissie and Dr. Pascal Rey-Heme recognized the great demand for international standards of healthcare among the expatriate community and international organizations in Asia. Together, they opened a local office, assistance center and clinic in Jakarta, Indonesia as well as an assistance center and headquarters in Singapore.
Throughout the years, our company has:
• Successfully dealt with the political unrest that occurred in Jakarta in 1998.
• Provided medical services to remote locations, including a large Russian island named Sakhalin.
• Obtained our first TRICARE contract with the US Department of Defense.
• Been instrumental in fighting the SARS epidemic in 2003.
• Provided emergency medical services and assistance for the tsunami that devastated Thailand in 2004.
• Expanded our global footprint, executing operations in North Africa and the Middle East and opening a new assistance center in Dubai.
• Provided a pivotal assistance role during the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
